Comcast Labs in Washington DC is currently looking to fill a full-time contractor position that requires computer vision and video processing research and prototype development applied to the home security and smart home setting.
We are an innovative research group that does groundbreaking research to develop future technologies and products for Comcast. Comcast is the largest provider of TV and Broadband Services in North America, the largest provider of TV search and discovery applications in North America, & the 6th largest provider of search on the web, and providing smart home services to more than 500,000 customers.
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a software developer on computer vision and video processing projects and applicants with a Masters are preferred. Applicants should have good programming and software development skills (C++, Python, OpenCV), and be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary, team-oriented, applied research environment. Experience with machine learning techniques, especially deep learning, and cloud computing or embedded, real-time programming would be a plus.
The position will be located in our Washington, DC office. We feature an informal, open atmosphere, and a location in downtown Washington convenient to several public transit lines and many of the city's museums, monuments, and other attractions. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
- Works with a senior researcher to assist in research and development of video analytics solutions for our smart home security product.
- Implement computer vision algorithms on camera hardware or in a distributed cloud environment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent; Masters preferred.
Field of Study: Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with experience in one or more of the following areas Computer Vision, Video Processing, Embedded Programming.
Years of Experience: Generally requires 3-6 years related experience after Bachelors, 1-4 years after Master’s.
Since this is a contractor position you would be hired via one of the contracting companies that work with Comcast. The desired length of the initial contract is for 1 year with the possibility of extending the contract further after that.
