Description: The Department of Medical Physics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is looking for a full-time, postdoctoral researcher with expertise in computer vision and medical image analysis. The position involves developing advanced image analysis methods including image segmentation and machine learning techniques for correlating cancers and heterogeneity within cancers with clinical outcomes and extracting imaging surrogates of gene expression profiles. In this position the candidate will work actively with medical physicists, radiologists, and oncologists in developing advanced image analysis tools for clinical decision-making. This position is funded for three years and can start immediately. Selected candidates are expected to publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals/conferences. Strong written and verbal skills are essential.
The ideal candidate should have expert knowledge of computer vision, pattern recognition and image processing. A strong proficiency in C#/C++, Python, ITK and visualization tools including VTK is highly desirable. Matlab programming and knowledge of machine learning is a plus. The research will focus on developing image analysis and machine learning techniques for bladder, ovary, and brain cancers.
