Full PhD scholarships are available in the area of image recognition, 3D reconstruction from images, medical imaging, digital heritage applications of vision, or machine learning (including deep networks) in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Otago in New Zealand. We have a small but vibrant group of researchers in the area of computer vision and artificial intelligence. Scholarships are not tied to a particular project but are granted to a student. Students with an interest in any of the above areas are encouraged to apply.
NZ$25,000 stipend per annum plus tuition fees waiver for 3 years.

A 4 year Honours degree or research Masters degree in Computer Science or closely related field (e.g. Mathematics with extensive programming experience)
grades equivalent to a US grade average of A or better
evidence of research ability through reputable publications (such as IEEE or ACM conferences and journals) or prior thesis research at Masters level.
