Description: Matterport is a fast-growing startup that is shaking up the 3D world. Our team has developed an end-to-end hardware and software solution that allows anyone to create, edit, and share 3D models of real-world spaces. Our tools are already used by thousands of professionals in a variety of industries, including real estate, hospitality, entertainment, media, and location-scouting. Our dedicated users create over 20,000 models per month, and these models have been viewed over 70 million times.
As a member of the computer vision team, you’ll be responsible for developing robust completely-automated computer vision algorithms to handle any real-world environment these users can throw at us, from small objects captured with mobile devices all the way up to massive stadiums. In the past year, our team has developed a mobile scanning app for Google Tango, delivered dramatic improvements in high-dynamic-range panoramic image quality, and helped the company expand into virtual reality with improved navigation, more accurate geometry, and semantic room modeling.
We work on a broad range of technologies, including point cloud alignment, generation/texturing of 3D meshes from point clouds, 3D mesh manipulation, camera calibration, SLAM, multi-view stereo, machine learning, and semantic understanding. And we’ve collected a massive database of complex real-world data that we can use to validate our approaches. Proficiency in C++ is a must!
Experience with tools such as OpenCV, Eigen, Ceres Solver, or TensorFlow is a bonus
5+ years of software development experience preferred
2+ years of experience in computer vision or related area required.
