The Computer Graphics and Multimedia Systems Group of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Siegen - aims to fill at the earliest possible date the following vacancies two Research Scientists and/or Post Docs (fulltime position, salary scale 13 TV-L)
These positions are initially limited in time to a period of three years with potential for contract prolongation. The term is limited by the regulations of the German Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).
Research in the fields of simulation and visualization of massive particle quantities, especially for liquids and gases (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics). You work in a team of doctoral students on state-of-the-art methods for physical-based visual effects and develop new concepts and algorithms in this area.
Possibly you will be expected to teach 4 semester hours per week.
You have a very good scientific degree (diploma or master) in computer science (or equivalent) and good English language skills.
In addition, good to very good knowledge in object-oriented programming (C ++) under Linux/Unix or Windows, we expect solid knowledge in the mathematical foundations of computer graphics and in the programming of graphics hardware (GPUs), as well.
In the case of an application as a post-doctoral candidate, a very good doctorate in computer science, mathematics or electrical engineering with a clear research focus on computer graphics is expected, which is documented by relevant publications.
You will be given the opportunity to work towards your dissertation or habilitation.
