Internship Program

This internship program will involve the development of state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms for fast analysis of video streams. The specific component to be developed will depend on the skills of the candidate, chosen from the following options:
  • Object detection and tracking.
  • Person re-identification.
  • Activity recognition and event detection.
  • Video and image indexing.
  • Video summarization.
  • Tampering/falsification detection.
The successful candidate is expected to have a strong hands-on experience on one of the above topics, a solid background on machine learning and a good understanding of computer vision in general. Many of the aforementioned topics also require a solid hands-on experience on Deep Learning.

Required experience/skills

Enrolment in PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field with strong background in computer vision, and pattern recognition. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who works well in an international teaming environment.

Software skills: C/C++ (strong), Matlab or Python.

This position will be located at UTRC - Ireland and will report to the in-country General Manager. To be eligible to apply for the position, candidates must be legally entitled to work and reside in Ireland.
